Hello Eighth Grade Students & Families!
You’re a few weeks away from beginning your final year in middle school! I am once again the sole advisor for the class of 2021. I’ve moved out of the “cave” and the custodians are busy transforming the old computer lab into our new math classroom. The four core classrooms are now arranged together at the end of the hall so we can feel like a real middle school community. I’m excited to start this exciting year with you.
If you are new to South Royalton School, let me take this opportunity to share a little about myself. This will be my 14th year teaching at SoRo! I was hired directly after graduating from UVM, and I’ve been here ever since. I live in South Royalton with my husband and two children. We are all proud to be Royals! We are a baseball-loving family and we root for the Red Sox. I love to read and appreciate a good nerdy math joke. I am very excited to share my enthusiasm in the classroom with you.
We will take full advantage of our homeroom time this year. We will attend morning meeting with the high school on Monday mornings (and for special events), but you will come directly to my classroom the remaining four days of the week throughout the school year. During this time we will participate in traditional advisory activities.
As your homeroom teacher and advisor, you can come to me with any concerns or questions. Although you can talk to any adult in the building about these things, I will be the primary contact for your family. E-mail is the most efficient way to communicate with me, but please don’t hesitate to pick up the phone if that’s your preference! I hope to help in any way that I can!
