The South Royalton Student Council serves as a voice for students in the high school. Each spring, grades 8 – 11 elect the executive board consisting of the president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and two representatives who will attend meetings of the school board. In the fall, Student Council organizes school-wide elections for class officers.
Part of our mission is to build student spirit by holding class and school events, to support programs that invite student participation, and to speak for student rights and privileges.
Our meetings are held on Wednesday mornings at 7:30 and are open to anyone who wishes to observe.
Student Council sponsors the first dance of the year, and a Spirit Week which follows soon after with students wearing theme-based outfits for each day of the week. On Friday afternoon of Spirit Week, grades 6-12 play games and end the day with a bonfire at dusk.
Other activities are planned throughout the year.
