2016-17 List

Vermont Lion’s Club is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a senior, in financial need, with a disability or debilitating illness.  Deadline is March 8, 2017. – Scholarship – Vermont Lions Hart Memorial Award

Vermont Superintendents Association is offering a $2,000 scholarship to a senior who can demonstrate leadership & service to community, academic achievement and initiative in overcoming a specific challenge.  Deadline is March 17, 2017. – Scholarship – Vermont Superintendents Association – Alice Angney Scholarship for Leadership & Service

The American Legion of Vermont is offering a $1,500 scholarship, a $1,000 scholarship and ten $500 scholarships. Deadline is April 1, 2017. – Scholarship – American Legion Dept of Vermont

VT EPSCoR Center for Workforce Development and Diversity offer scholarships up to $5,000 for Native American and First Generation Students who are entering or in a STEM major at a Vermont College or University.   Deadline is April 3, 2017. –  Go to:  www.uvm.edu/~cwdd/scholarships to complete your online application.

The Orange County Maple Producers Association offers a scholarship up to $1,000 to a student who lives in or attends a high school in Orange County.  A preference will be given to  those interested in the maple/agricultural/forestry industry.  Deadline is April 15, 2017. – Scholarship – Orange County Maple Producers Association

The Sons of the American Legion Dennis Comai Scholarship is granted to a student planning to attend a trade school or technical college and whose grandparent, parent, or sibling is a member of the American Legion Family (American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion).  Deadline is April 15, 2017. – Scholarship – Sons of the American Legion – Dennis Comai

The Fletcher “Buster” Brush Memorial Scholarship.  To apply for this scholarship you do not have to be the highest academic achiever, or the star athlete, but you need to demonstrate compassion for others, a strong work ethic, school spirit, leadership, community service and the desire to challenge yourself.  Deadline is April 17, 2017.  –  Scholarship – Fletcher Buster Brush Memorial

The Community Club of East Barnard have three $500 scholarships available to seniors who live in the Broad Brook watershed and plan to further their education.  Deadline is April 30, 2017 –  Scholarship – The Community Club of East Barnard

Sharon Masonic Lodge No. 105 Scholarship of $500 for students who are residents of Sharon, VT or have a relative who is a member in good standing, regardless of residence.  They must complete the application and write an essay explaining how they exemplify the qualities of good moral character, leadership, community service, patriotism and versatility and a brief description of what benefits they expect from further education.  Deadline is May 1, 2017. – Scholarship – Sharon Masonic Lodge #105

Vermont Golf Association Scholarship to be granted annually for up to four years.  The number and amount of scholarships is determined annually.  Applicants must be accepted or enrolled as a full-time student.  Some criteria used for selection are financial need, school performance, and the applicant’s (not family) affiliation to the game of golf; such as competing, working at a golf course, or participating in golf programs/events.  Deadline is May 1, 2017. – Scholarship – Vermont Golf Association Fund

Members Advantage Community Credit Union Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a graduating senior furthering their education.  They must be a member of the Credit Union at the time of application (see more details in the “Field of Membership” attached to the application).  Also see the application for more information regarding school academic/activity requirements.  Deadline is May 8, 2017. –  Scholarship – Members Advantage Community Credit Union

The Cone Automatic Machine Company Charitable Foundation is one $6,000 scholarship and four $1,500 scholarships to the children or grandchildren of former employees of Cone-Blanchard Machine Company having a minimum of five years continuous service.  Deadline is May 9, 2017. – Scholarship – The Cone Automatic Machine Company

The Auxiliary of Gifford Medical Center is pleased to offer scholarship opportunities to area students pursuing a career in Nursing or in the fields of allied health.  Scholarships are available to students who reside in a town served by GMC (see list on application). Royalton Civic Club’s Scholarship is for a senior who demonstrates financial need and clear career plans.  Applicants must complete the form and write an essay discussing any work experiences, hobbies/interests and future goals.  They must also enclose a letter or recommendation.  This information must be returned to the Guidance Office.  Deadline is May 12, 2017. – Scholarship – Royalton Civic Club

TRORC – Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission Scholarship.  Appropriate fields of study include: engineering, geography, political science, sociology, mathematics, environmental studies, energy, planning, and agriculture/forestry.  Up to six $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.  Deadline is May 19, 2017. – Scholarship – Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission
